Emily Hanford, an award-winning APM senior producer and correspondent, is sending viral shock waves throughout the educational community with her investigative reports on why our nation’s children are still struggling to read. After three years of reporting on reading, she has brought attention to the importance of teacher knowledge about the science of reading.

Emily will discuss the elephants in the room when it comes to how children are taught to read and share insights from the front lines of the ongoing debate about effective reading instruction. There will be time for questions and conversation after her presentation.

Seating is limited and you have been specially chosen to attend this important community discussion on how to improve childhood literacy here in Winston Salem/Forsyth County.
