Wake Forest University is home to the Winston-Salem Community Action Coalition, part of the federal AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service To America (VISTA) program. VISTAs are united by their passion to make a difference; together, they have vowed to complete a year of national service and create meaningful change in Winston-Salem and beyond.

Individuals can serve in two different positions: Member or Summer Associate.

Members serve for a year in full-time, capacity-building roles with community organizations throughout Winston-Salem. Focused on poverty alleviation, VISTA members work to address education equity, economic empowerment, and health and food justice.

Summer Associates allows individuals the opportunity to provide direct service support to select community partners through a nine-week summer program.
