Deb Marke, Associate Director of Democratic Engagement and Justice Programs in Wake Forest University’s Office of Civic & Community Engagement, has been nationally recognized by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN), receiving the prestigious 2025 Standout Administrator Award. Marke is one of only six administrators nationwide to earn this distinction.

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recognized students, faculty, staff, presidents, athletic coaches, partner organizations, and election officials for their exemplary leadership in advancing nonpartisan student civic engagement during ALL IN Awards Day, a virtual day of celebration. The Standout Administrator Award specifically honors Marke’s leadership in advancing nonpartisan civic learning, political engagement, and voter participation among college students, particularly for her significant contributions ahead of the 2024 election. Through her work, Marke empowers students to become lifelong participants in democracy, reflecting the mission of ALL IN to make civic engagement an ongoing part of campus life.

“Despite long lines and an increase in restrictive voting laws, college students did not sleep in on Election Day — they were determined to make their voices heard in 2024,” said Jen Domagal-Goldman, Executive Director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. “Elections matter, and with 100,000 local elections happening across the country in 2025, ALL IN campuses continue to ensure that every student has the information they need to cast their ballot. The award winners recognized today lead by example, making nonpartisan voter participation a core part of campus life.”

ALL IN supports more than 1,020 campuses nationally to make nonpartisan civic engagement an ongoing part of campus life, empowering colleges and universities to achieve excellence in these efforts.

In addition to Marke’s recognition, Wake Forest University student Natalie Borsuk (’25) has been named to the 2025 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll.
