David Ajamy II (‘19), a politics and international affairs major and journalism minor, was selected to present an oration at the 2019 Senior Colloquium.

In its Summer 2019 print edition, Wake Forest Magazine published Ajamy’s oration under “Class Notes”. Throughout his written essay, Ajamy touched not only his personal history, but explained how his involvement with the Office of Civic & Community Engagement (formerly the Pro Humanitate Institute) helped shape his time at Wake Forest.

The annual tradition of the Senior Colloquium stretches back to the re-opening of Wake Forest College in 1868, following the Civil War. Originally, all seniors were expected to speak unless excused by a faculty member. Today, faculty members nominate outstanding seniors to prepare orations, and ten students are invited to speak at the annual event.
